Pre-Algebra... Retake info

Most of you did very well on the Chapter 2 Test :)

But for those of you who didn't do as well as you would have liked, I am going to offer a retake test.  The retake will be VERY similar to the original test.  There will be the same number of problems and the same types of problems - the problems will be in a different order, and I will use different numbers/variables.  But it'll basically be the same test.  Go over the problems on your original test again and again until you are completely comfortable with them, and you should do very well on the retake.

I will average your two scores together and enter that as your Ch. 2 Test score in Infinite Campus.  To figure out the highest possible score you can receive, find the mean of your original score and 105% (the score of a perfect test).  For example, if you got 85% on your test...  (85+105)/2 = 190/2 = 95%.  That means that your score in IC would be a 95% if you were to get a perfect score on the retake.

If you got lower than an 80% on the test, you are required to do this retake. I want your grade to improve, but I also want to make sure you understand this material.  This retake is not optional for anyone with a 79% or below.

If you got an 80% or higher, it is your choice. Only do the retake if you are willing to study your original test and if you are certain you will do better.  Regardless of whether your retake score is higher or lower than your original test, the mean score is what will go in IC.

This retake will take place during homeroom (and continuing into brunch, if needed) this Thursday, September 27.  If you scored an 80% or higher and are choosing to retake the test, you must come see me before 2:10 on Wednesday.  I need to know how many copies of the test to make.  If you scored below an 80%, I know who you are - you don't need to let me know.
